A particle of patina was taken from the surface of the building. Microscopic photographs of the patina or the ‘natural biofilm’ on the house were projected live onto the silos of Plangen mill. In the attached exhibition spaces of the Plange Mühle headquarters building, the BOOTSCHAFT project was presented in a solo exhibition, which incorporated the presentation of URANKER, PACE MAKERS, and a not-realized project for Düsseldorf-Harbour area. The event was supported by the City Planning Department, Architekturbüro Ingenhoven and Architekturbüro Overdiek.

Douglas Davis, Letter of Recommendation for Sabine Kacunko:
I am delighted to offer my evaluation of Miss Kacunko’s professional contributions to the field of Performance-, photographic-, and Media Art. I write from two vantage points, as an artist and author: Following my studies, from 1960 onward I was active as an art critic and editor for publications such as Art in America and Newsweek. From 1969, I worked as a painter, and beginning in 1967, created artistic events and performances. From 1970 onward, my works included video tapes and video action pieces. My works are rooted in Fluxus and Concept Art. With my live performances in galleries and museums, and video tapes of action pieces, I tried to overcome traditional, one-sided communication practices through personified interactions – one of the qualities of the artistic work of Sabine Kacunko, to whom I would hereby like to give my strong support:
I have had the pleasure of working with Sabine since several years, as we started to discuss about how to maintain her community-engaged art practice, and how to collaborate with artistic- and academic, as well as institutional-based communities in her brilliant artistic work – all accomplishments that are hallmarks of Kacunko’s career.
That is also why I have chosen Sabine as my performance partner in Europe for a series of projects. Especially I would like to support her present major project called BOOTSCHAFT, a project, that demonstrates not only in its basic conception, but also in its excellent artistic and aesthetic an intellectual and scientific claim, which she already realized in various media performances.
I would like very much to cooperate and help Sabine in realizing the project BOOTSCHAFT, that includes among other a short New York-residence for accomplishing an important documentation about Fluxus-artists.
Miss Kacunko’s intention should fall in the Studio on the Wooster Street 80, Maciunas Center, where Soho was born in the late 60’s and where Yoko Ono planted with John Lennon the tree I am now happy to nourish and preserve. It is a very legendary place, important to protect because of all its historical background.
